Sekhem – what’s that?

What is Sekhem?

Sekhem is said to have been rediscovered by Patrick Ziegler while he was meditating in a Pyramid at Giza. It is a powerful, yet gentle, form of energy.

The ancient Egyptian, lion headed, Goddess Sekhmet is closely linked with Sekhem.

She is thought, by some, to be the source of the energy system that we now know as Sekhem.

Sekhem practitioners use this energy, described as ‘unconditional love’ to help others, which in turn helps them to become more effective.

What can it do for me?

What do you want it to do?

That sounds like an evasion, but it’s how Sekhem works – within reason. I make no claims of miracle ‘cures’, that would be not only untrue but immoral as well.

However, Sekhem can help you cope with long term health issues as well as assist in the recovery from short term debilities.Whether this effect is from relaxing, a placebo effect or from the Sekhem (naturally I think the Sekhem helps!) it’s usual to have an increased sense of wellbeing after a Sekhem session.

Sekhem is not a replacement for any medicine or other treatment you have been prescribed by your doctor. You shouldn’t stop taking any medicine without consulting your doctor first.

What happens in a Sekhem session?

You sit or lie quietly while the Sekhem practitioner gently puts their hands near or on your body. There’s no need to lie absolutely still, move if you’re uncomfortable, or if the practitioner asks you to. You can close your eyes if it helps you relax, but again – it’s not compulsory.

The length of the session will vary according to the practitioner, but they typically last between half an hour and one hour.

What does it feel like?

How Sekhem feels is unique to each individual. No two people will have the same experience. However, here are some words that people have used to describe what they feel:

Warmth – beyond that of someone having their hand on you

Tingling – like very gentle pins and needles

Twitching – usually fingers or toes

Relaxed – this is something that the majority of people say the feel!

  1. Hi Liz
    Great site.

You mentioned some of the sensations you get while having a session.

Relaxed – this is something that the majority of people say the feel!
This is all correct, but now the warmth is like a fire : )
the tingling takes over the whole body and is like a cosmic orgasm : )
The Twitching is no longer just the fingers and toes, whole body make vibrate and shake, sometimes the back will arch as the energy asses through the heart center.
We will have to connect next time I am in the UK, the Sekhem energy is evolving so fast now.

    All Love

    • Thanks for taking the time to comment on my site. It means a lot to me :0)

I’d love to use the sort of language and imagery that you do to describe Sekhem!

I’m constrained as I’m endeavouring to adhere to the regulations we have over here. (Which now covers material that is online too)

If you’re ever in the UK I have a cup of tea with your name on it ;0)
